somewhere south of your borderline

free rides on the bus in the summertime, your hand in my hand. back and forth. south and north and everywhere. sunshine, candybars, hidden stars and all of our friends are there. free rides on the bus, another chance for us. fall asleep in my arms. dream above the car alarms, siren songs. tell me all about all of your ice-cream hearts. and you are my best friend. you are the most beautiful thing I keep inside my heart.

abandonment issues

my top 10 for reality in Detroit and sorrounding areas:

I know, I know. Proximity to schools, grocery stores, parks, community safety is more important than aesthetics. Did I check the pipes? Eletrical? Get a home inspector in there? Was anything other than the cool tones of the photos important? Of course not! This is the time to be young and reckless!

I spent Summer 2010 in a drunken haze

This is Greg. The reason I'm even writing this is because I meant to write Greg. Instead I'm doing this.

One time, Greg and I went to see the Rapture. While trying to get his makeshift earplugs out (tissue paper), he got one of them lodged. He told me he was feeling dizzy because they were fucking up with the equilibrium. I'd never seen the Rapture before and didn't want to miss them. Since we were at the now defunct Kytes space at College and Bathurst, I told him to go to Toronto Western. Apparently, on his way there he found a nice convenience store guy who helped him get it out. This was early on in our friendship and I still don't know how he continued on the friendship path with me, let alone bff path. Anyway, I'm grateful he is a much better person than I.

summer time and baseball, come back pleeeease!

spider bait

I got Slint's Spiderland for Xmas '93.

I listened to it for maybe a half year straight. Nothing else. Just this. 'Washer' was my favourite song, followed by 'Good Morning, Captain'. Brian McMahan basically just whispers/talks/screams his songs against the back drop of really heavy guitars and drums. Ahhhh! The whole album is amazing. Even at that age I knew this was haunting and unlike anything else I'd ever hear before.
